New Yorker. Currently living in Dublin.
Paint on flat surfaces, mostly. Varieties of abstraction.
Also photographs, found objects, stolen objects, hybrids of the above,
things I can’t be rid of in any other way, etc.
Acrylic, oil, pencil, ink, pastel, crayon, plaster, spit, etc., digital
legerdemain (whatever I can make a Mac do) – i.e., pretty much
anything lying about – or, if discovered elsewhere, looks interesting
and isn’t nailed down (or can be easily pried off) – plus accidents,
neglect, theft, confusion, despair, etc.
Long, uncomfortable pauses.
“There is only one way left to escape the alienation of present day
society: to retreat ahead of it.”
– Roland Barthes, The Pleasure of the Text
